Graphic Designing That Starts on Paper

I’m Ivan Art. I work from my studio in the Valle di Muggio, and I’ve been doing graphic design for nearly 30 years. The Boobye Blue kids’ collection you see above is a great example. It started as quick pencil sketches and turned into print-ready clothing, packaging, and social media graphics.

Graphic Design for Covers, Posters, and Products

Book Cover Design & Magazine Layouts

I design book covers for everything from novels to business books that look great on a shelf and as a thumbnail. You’ll get custom artwork, not stock images, and I can provide print-ready interiors if you need them.

CD Cover Design & Music Packaging

I create CD covers, vinyl sleeves, and digital artwork. You’ll get designs that match the music and work well for print, Spotify, and social media.

Digital Graphic Design & Graphic Design Assets

I create ads, social media posts, web banners, and all the graphic design assets your team can use again. Everything is delivered neat and organized for both print and digital use.

Posters, Ads, and Apparel

Need a poster, flyer, or t-shirt design? I take care of the illustrations, layout, and production files from start to finish. If you want graphic design in Switzerland that really works, you’ve come to the right place.

My Graphic Process

  1. Scribble session. You send a brief. I draw 3–5 loose ideas on paper the same day.
  2. Choose one. We pick a direction on a quick call. No formal presentation deck.
  3. Build it right. I redo the sketch in Illustrator. Color is set for CMYK and RGB from the start.
  4. Test it. I print a proof on my Epson here in Ticino, and I check it on mobile. That’s how I catch issues before your printer does.
  5. Hand over the pack. You get organized graphic design assets: source AI/EPS, print PDF/X, web PNGs, plus fonts outlined and colors labeled.

Want to see a test? Send me a title and I’ll sketch a cover option.

Why It Works For Print And Screen

I grew up using Swiss grids, but I spent years drawing cartoons. That combination keeps the layout simple and relatable. That’s why a book cover design I create looks great next to a classic in a bookstore and still stands out on Amazon.

I name each layer, lock the logo versions, and add a one-page usage sheet. You’ll receive folders for AI, SVG, and PNG. This way, no one needs to sift through a messy file.

I work in CMYK from the start and use FOGRA profiles. I’ll send you a hard proof PDF and, if needed, a printed proof from my local print partner in Mendrisio.

I read your synopsis and check comps in your genre. Then, I sketch three different covers by hand: one typographic, one character-driven, and one symbolic. You choose, and I refine.

I start by listening to 2–3 tracks. While I listen, I sketch, and then I create the final design as vector art. You’ll get everything, including a 3000x3000px streaming file and social media banners.

Paper is quicker for ideas. I can test ten drafts in ten minutes. The computer comes later for precision.
